Sentara Princess Anne Hospital Auxiliary is committed to supporting the mission of Sentara Princess Anne Hospital by helping meet the healthcare needs of the community and enhancing the patient experience through compassionate service and meaningful support programs. Guided by a dedication to improving the lives of patients and families, the Auxiliary continually seeks opportunities to provide comfort, encouragement, and assistance to those facing difficult health challenges.

One of the Auxiliary’s most meaningful initiatives is The Unique Boutique, which is supported through proceeds from the annual Sentara Princess Anne Hospital Auxiliary Golf Tournament. The Unique Boutique was created to provide oncology patients experiencing hair loss with a welcoming, supportive environment where they can receive complimentary wigs, scarves, hats, and other head coverings at no cost.

At the Boutique, patients are greeted by compassionate Auxiliary volunteers who provide individualized assistance with selecting and fitting a wig that helps restore confidence, dignity, and comfort during treatment. Each patient receiving a wig is also provided with a wig stand and guidance on proper care and maintenance. Every interaction is centered on compassion, understanding, and helping patients feel supported throughout their journey.

Since its inception, The Unique Boutique has assisted more than 500 cancer patients, offering not only practical support, but also reassurance and encouragement during a challenging time in their lives. In addition to wigs, patients may choose from a wide variety of scarves, hats, wraps, and other headwear designed to meet diverse styles, preferences, and comfort needs.

The Unique Boutique is conveniently located on the fourth floor of Sentara Princess Anne Hospital at 2025 Glenn Mitchell Drive in Virginia Beach, where it continues to serve as a source of comfort, care, and hope for patients throughout the community.
